If you’re like me, your weekend was severely handicapped by Mother Nature. Curling up in front of the TV or hitting up Club Gelman seemed like the most appealing (and driest) options. Well, no worries people, this weekend calls for clear skies and lots of partying! What’s hot this weekend? Well believe it or not, the Cloyd Heck Marvin Center!
Yes, I said it, the Marvin Center. Looks like you can cancel out cab/metro fare for the weekend because the party is right on campus.
It all starts on Friday night at 10 p.m. with the CSA’s Tropical Riddim Party in the Continental Ballroom. It’s a collaboration between GWU and Howard University, so this one is going to be HOT!!! And I know many of you are tired of partying with the same GW faces, so this would be an ideal time to meet some new people. Did I mention the CSA’s throwing it? That means you’d better come prepared to DANCE. No sitting and/or wall flowering at this one! Only $5 for CSA members and $7 for nonmembers, so no excuses. Make sure you’re there because it’s going to be off the chain!
As for Saturday night? Well it’s about that time again. The Golden Explosion is back! Now if you’re an incoming freshman (or if you missed it last year) this is one of the biggest parties of the year. It’s hosted by the Alphas, and they know how to throw a party. This is another one of those “get there early” events because last year a LOT of people got turned away once they reached capacity. That alone should tell you that it’s going to be the place to be on Saturday!
So make sure you’re not the one stuck inside missing two of the biggest parties of the year! Get your homework and studying done early. You definitely won’t regret it. And people, just because these parties are in the Marvin Center, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t dress to impress. You never know who you’re going to meet! I hope to see many of you this weekend, and yes, I’ll be watching.
